Sunny Leone Sued for Obscenity in India

Canadian Porn Star turned Bollywood (India) actress Sunny Leone visited the cyber crime cell of the Indian Thane (Jail) Police Station to record a statement in an obscenity case filed earlier this month by a Mumbai based mother of two sons housewife, reports Indian local channel NDTV.

Inspector Jagdish Sawant of the CCU (cyber crime unit) stated that they are carrying out investigations after the Indian housewife of Dombivali resident filed a First Information Report or FIR against Porn Star Sunny Leone who has been sued under both the Information Technology Act and Indecent Representation of Women Act of India.

The accused Porn Star Sunny Leone is held liable of circulating obscene content on the Internet – a crime that carries a punishment of up to five years in jail – in the case filed against her in the Indian Police station based in Mumbai.

The woman has made written and verbal complaints that the “Ek Paheli Leela” Bollywood film star has posted pictures of herself on her Facebook that can be considered as circulating pornographic material.

“Such posts poison the minds of people and especially children,” the complaint stated.

“This actor is coming here and displaying vulgarity. Bollywood films could earlier be watched with families. Today we cannot see them with our families. When I visited her website (SunnyLeone.com) I found that it was not fit for viewing for all ages. That is why I have decided to lodged this complaint and sue her,” the complainant told reporters.

She also alleged that watching Leone’s adult videos “can lead to rape” and has demanded that the website be shut down or be banned from the Indian internet space.

Sunny Leone, 34, made her Bollywood debut in early 2012.
